Creating a website for photographers to sell photographs

Project overview

The product:
Sell photographs website is for the local photographers who are willing to sell their unique photographs of local places and landscapes.

The problem:
People can’t find easily the landscapes of their native places or their own cities.

The goal:
We want to create a website where local photographers can their unique photographs of local places and landscapes so people can find landscapes from their native places or their own cities.

My role and Responsibilities:
UX designer, leading the website from conception to delivery and my responsibilities are conduct interviews, paper and digital wireframes, low and high fidelity prototypes, usability studies, iterating on designs and determine information architect

September 2021 to November 2021

User research:

Summary

I conducted interviews and created empathy maps to understand the users I’m designing for and their needs. A primary user group identified through research was the photographers who are willing to sell their unique photographs and landscapes.

Pain Points

A platform for photographers
There is no perticular platform for photographer to sell their unique photographs and landscapes.

Difficulty to find
People are facing difficulty to find a perfect landscape of their own native places

Easy to use
An easys to use platform for photographers where they can manage themselves.

Persona:

User story:
Divyesh is 32 years old Photographer who working as a full-time designer he want to be able to sell his photographs and landscapes so he can make some extra income

Problem statement:
Divyesh don’t have any knowledge of how to sell online his uniuqe photographs and landscapes.

Starting the design

Digital wireframes

After ideating and drafting some paper wireframes, I created digital wireframes of the initial designs for the website

Mockups

After revieing and testing I created mockups for all screens from digital wireframes.

Usability study: findings

I have conducted usability studies, the study helped me to guide the design from wireframe to mockup. Used a high-fidelity prototype and revealed what aspects of the mockups needed refining.

Easy to use
Users want a website that very easy to use and they can upload photographes and customize for sell

Sizes and types
Some user need options for sizes and types of photographs and landscapes.

High-fidelity prototype

The high-fidelity prototype followed the same user flow as the low-fidelity prototype, including design changes made after the usability study.

Takeaways

Impact:
The website helps photographers to sell their unique photographs of local places and landscapes and make some extra income.

What I learned:
I learned that, the feedbacks are very important to improve design or product. Usability study plays a big roll to make product user friendly. I also learned that the improvement is a step by step process, and you need to follow the steps correctly.
